sciton’s BBL and MOXI laser treatment: brighter skin in a flash

Restylane filler

Sun damage? Acne? Texture? Rosacea? Dull skin? Sciton’s BBL/MOXI laser is the jack of all trades, addressing virtually any pesky skin concern we see come through the door. At Elevate, we are proud to have the Sciton BBL Hero device, a highly advanced device touted as one of the very best in the industry (which means better results for you)!

With so many laser treatments in the industry, it can be overwhelming to know where to start, and which is best for you. Below is a breakdown of the BBL and MOXI treatments available at Elevate Medical Spa, explaining why we and celebrities like Kim Kardashian are absolute fanatics about Sciton’s laser.

Understanding BBL

BBL stands for BroadBand Light, which harnesses the power of intense pulsed light to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin. You may have heard of IPL laser (Intense Pulsed Light), and BBL is essentially the next level treatment. BBL is the gold standard of photofacial skin rejuvenation, with more customization than IPL laser treatments and handpieces are equipped with state-of-the-art cooling features – essentially allowing a more effective and comfortable treatment!

This treatment is amazing for overall skin rejuvenation and health, but it truly excels when treating:

  • Redness

  • Brown hyperpigmentation (sun spots, freckles, etc.)

  • Breakouts

  • Loose, aging skin

  • Visible blood vessels

It also gives this unmistakable “BBL glow” we like to call it, where the skin looks visibly clearer, healthier, and younger. While we most often treat the face, we can also treat other areas of the body like the neck, chest, arms, and hands.

We love BBL photofacials because it is highly effective with minimal downtime. After treatment you may be slightly red for a few hours, but makeup may be applied right after. For the next few days, your pigmentation will get darker and slowly dissipate. That’s it – no need to hide for weeks!

Understanding MOXI

MOXI is what we like to refer to as our “airbrush finish” treatment. MOXI tackles skin texture and difficult hard-to-treat pigmentation like melasma. This treatment is also safe for almost any skin tone, which is not common for most lasers. Moxi creates micro-injuries in the skin—the body naturally repairs these zones and replaces damaged cells with healthy, vibrant skin.

MOXI is a wonderful pre-juvenation treatment to give smooth, glowing skin, treating:

  • Pore appearance

  • Texture

  • Fine lines

  • Melasma

Like BBL, the downtime for MOXI is minimal. After treatment, you can expect to be red for a few hours and skin texture may feel rough or gritty, similar to sandpaper, for a few days while it heals. This rough texture is called “MENDS” which slough off and slowly reveal bright, fresh skin.

SkinStax: BBL + MOXI is Better Together

For the best results, we almost always recommend combining BBL + MOXI treatments. These two modalities can be stacked in one appointment for your convenience. Once you try it, you’ll be addicted to the glow and on the way to your dream skin!
